07-14-2026 - Remembering Victoria Ring, paralegal and author of 22 books, hundreds of articles, and the series "Victoria's Reports", promoted in the popular Mail Order magazines and tabloids. Those reports contained valuable information for home-based, extra-income entrepreneurs and included reproduction rights. I bought a handful of them, but they have disappeared over the years. Victoria passed away in 2011.

07-14-2026 - This is the first post of the day, and I'm enjoying a cup of Folgers Black Silk coffee. This is probably lawn-mowing day at the ADSHEET #8 HQ. On our very hot Texas days, I usually do the front and side yard on one day and the backyard the next. Later today, I'll be watching the World Cup game - France @ Spain. Also, it's National Mac and Cheese Day.

07-13-2026 - I remember when ebooks became popular “extra income mail order” items in the mid-1990s. There were various ebook compilers on the market, allowing dealers to distribute a ton of ads and/or reports on disk. It didn’t take long for someone to start converting all the popular reprint reports into text files and publishing collections on 5.25-inch disks, and later on 3.5-inch disks. I remember seeing disks with 7,000 reports for $10. Thats about .14285¢ per report. It was an interesting time.

07-13-2026 - Noah was the first businessman mentioned in the Bible. He floated a company at a time when the rest of the world was under liquidation.

07-13-2026 - I'm a little puzzled by all the ads I see for "deeply discounted" U.S. postage stamps. The U.S. Postal Inspection Service says such stamps are probably counterfeit. You would think that someone who depends on the U. S. Post Office to handle incoming and outgoing mail would not engage in activity that endangers that agency.

07-13-2026 - I just mailed my first "site announcement" ad (2" display ad) for this website. It went to a well-known Mail Order publication. The adventure begins!

07-12-2026 - In the news: First Class one-ounce postage jumps from 78¢ to 82¢ today, A USPS box truck caught fire in Bosque Farms, New Mexico. A USPS spokesperson said they did not know how many packages or other mail pieces were on the truck which was operated by an authorized contractor. Barbie stamps are coming to a Post Office near you. 07-12-2026 - According to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, two men pleaded guilty to robbing a U.S. Postal Carrier in Richmond, Virginia. They will be sentenced in October.

07-12-2026 - Yesterday, I received a 4x6 inch envelope containing a business card promoting a program. It would have been cheaper to send a postcard.

07-12-2026 - Do you remember the days of the International Reply Coupons? Did you ever use them in Mail Order transactions? I bought them to send to foreign Amateur (ham) Radio stations I contacted. They could exchange the coupon at their local post office for one first-class stamp to send me their QSL card confirming our contact. I think the last time I bought one was in the late 1980s. I asked Google about the date they were discontinued and got this answer: Google AI Overview: The U.S. Postal Service discontinued selling International Reply Coupons (IRCs) on January 27, 2013, due to low demand. On a global scale, the Universal Postal Union (UPU) officially discontinued the IRC program entirely on December 31, 2026.

07-12-2026 - On July 10, I decided to get on the USPS website and order stamps ahead of the July 12 price increase. I tried to order the day before, but the website kept glitching. That should have been a warning. So, on my return visit, I made my selections, selected the only credit card I had on file, then selected the shipping method. BOOM - my credit card was charged before I got a chance to hit the “place order” button. The stamps were still in my shopping cart. The bigger problem is that none of the “help” selections offered any assistance for website issues. The AI creature in the chat program was clueless about all versions of my complaint. When I called the customer service number, I got an AI assistant that didn’t have a clue as to what I was complaining about. I’ll have to wait until Monday to talk to a person. UPDATE: On Monday morning, the glitch cleared on its own. The pending credit card charge had been removed. I placed the order successfully. On the downside, the system charged me the new rate. I was hoping I would get the old rate since the items were already in my shopping cart and USPS was the one who delayed the order. It's not worth my time to even inquire about it.

07-12-2026 - According to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, three people were arrested for Grand Larceny for allegedly stealing checks from United States Postal Service (USPS) collection boxes throughout Suffolk County. They were using a "fishing" device to remove mail containing checks, money orders, and credit cards from blue USPS mail collection boxes.
