07-16-2026 - It isn't the number of people employed in a business that makes it successful, it's the number working.

07-16-2026 - Good Morning! It's a new day and my Folgers Black Silk coffee is brewing. Several decades ago, stuck in my storm door, was an item called Joe’s Adsheet. I don’t remember if it was actually Joe. It could have been Bill, or Bob, or something else, but you get the idea. The important thing was that someone found some entrepreneurial energy and published an adsheet. Neighborhood residents were invited to submit ads that might interest others in the area. I didn’t have such an ad at the time, and I never saw another copy of the adsheet.

07-15-2026 - Headlines - Seattle-area prices among highest in nation as inflation spikes to nearly 5%, beating NYC, Mortgage rates rise to highest level in nearly a year, causing homebuyers to pause, Growing debt creates growing risks for American workers.

07-15-2026 - When I learned to fly, the cost to rent a Cessna 150 was $12 an hour. An instructor was paid $6 an hour. That's how old I am.

07-15-2026 - I haven't seen a "mail order" type card deck in many years. The last one I remember was published by a company in Houston, Texas. Was it Interstate "something or another"? Are card decks not profitable? Perhaps that's the issue. Or maybe we have a lot of dealers forgoing the creation of new products and services because of the perceived (or actual) ease of joining an MLM or gifting program. I do not know.

07-15-2026 - Do you recall the Computer Bulletin Board Systems (BBS) that were popular in the 1990s? They were widely used before the Internet really took off. It was essentially a website or social media site, without the web, allowing users to download files, read content, and post comments. I had one up and running in 1995 or so, and it was tied in with my Mail Order operations. I advertised it in Mail Order publications. I used the Wildcat BBS program and a U.S. Robotics dial-up modem. I started out with a 2400 BPS modem, then upgraded to 14,400 BPS, and then to the 28,800 model. I don't remember making the jump to 56K, but I'm sure I did. The BBS got calls from all over the U.S., and someone even logged in from Australia. Impressive, since they had to make the call on their dime.

07-15-2026 - I’m watching England vs Argentina in the World Cup Semi-Final, and all I can say so far is that it’s a fabulous festival of fantastic flopping.

07-15-2026 - I gave the Champion 9000 generator its regular exercise run today. I can't have the ADSHEET #8 HQ in the dark during a commercial power outage. We don't have a lot of power interruptions, but you never know when it'll happen and how long it'll last.

07-15-2026 - Today, I mailed a few more small "site announcement" display ads for some well-known Mail Order publications. I also mailed a handful of "site announcement" postcards to individual dealers. Let's see what happens.

07-15-2026 - I don't do "crypto" and I probably never will. Are you into crypto? Maybe you could write a detailed report on the subject and post an ad for that report on this site.

07-15-2026 - Good Morning! I have Morse code running in the background as I enjoy my first cup of Folgers Black Silk coffee. One of my long-time hobbies (44 years and still going) is Amateur (ham) Radio. These days, I'm in the listening mode 99.9% of the time. While I listen to various modes, when it comes to actually operating, I do Morse code only. I also listen to the CB Radio, and my scanner radio for local activity. Walmart, the city buses, and school buses are a hoot! I don't have anything on the schedule for today, other than watching the World Cup game at 2:00 PM.

07-14-2026 - Years ago, I received a request for information on an item I was selling. I used the sender's self-addressed, stamped envelope to send the information. A few days later, the S.A.S.E. was returned by the Post Office as undeliverable because they couldn't read the scribbled address.
