08-09-2026 - Good Morning! It’s Sunday, and I have nothing scheduled for today. Our forecasted high is 104 degrees again. This is the forecast, plus or minus one degree, all the way through Saturday. I might have mentioned in an earlier post that I saw people walking dogs on the hot sidewalk. Yesterday, as I walked into a local Walmart, I saw a woman exiting with a German Shepherd. He wore leather booties to protect his feet from the scorching parking lot. Awesome! My Folgers Black Silk coffee is ready.

08-08-2026 - This is probably not something most Mail Order Dealers think about, but you can probably put every ad ever published in the adsheets and admags for the last 30 years on a single thumb drive or SD card. That would be the biggest of all Big Mails! Years ago, I bought a CD-ROM writer. The plan was to scan dealer sales circulars and put them on a CD as a form of Big Mail or Opportunity Pack. I never acted on that idea. I don’t recall seeing such a Big Mail CD advertised.

Controllable loss decreased $584 million and net loss decreased $562 million, compared to same quarter last year. Despite improved third quarter results, the long-term liquidity crisis continues
08-07-2026 - Getting an email alert that you received money through one of those online payment systems is great, but it doesn’t come close to the joy of having cold, hard cash falling out of an envelope and onto your desk. Of course, we Mail Order dealers don’t send huge amounts of cash through the mail, but just $5 or $10 brings a smile. You need to have that happen multiple times per day.
08-07-2026 - The U.S. Postal Service released its new Diagonal U.S. Flag Forever stamped envelope today. The “stars and stripes” of the U.S. flag are printed diagonally, showing just a portion of the flag. I like the look.

08-07-2026 - Good Morning! It’s Friday, and I intend to stay inside most of the day and not out in the forecasted 102-degree heat. I’ll do that tomorrow, maybe, when I resume the yard mowing. In the world of Extra Income Mail Order, information still sells. While the Internet is loaded with information, it’s not loaded with your version of that information. My Folgers Black Silk coffee is ready.
08-06-2026 - We’re running short on large-format, printed advertising publications aimed at the Extra Income Mail Order industry. They seem to be shutting down faster over the last several decades than new ones are developed. What we need are not necessarily more large-format replacements, but more low-circulation, independently mailed adsheets. By low-circulation, I mean 100. Some might call these “checking copy” adsheets because they are only mailed to the dealers who post ads, as those ads are received. Each ad moves down a space as each new ad is received until it falls off after 100 rotations. Sending your ad to a handful of them could provide good exposure. But first, we need a handful of them.
08-06-2026 - In my town, there was a family disturbance call that turned out not to be one. A woman told police that her husband refused to get off the sofa and do work around the house or look for a job. The man, while supine, told police that his wife didn't understand that most of his work was mental. The officers suggested marriage counseling and departed.
