09-17-2026 - I’m still amazed, after all these years, that some dealers find it such a challenge to find a fresh, clear copy of a sales letter or circular to promote whatever it is they’re promoting. Can it really be that hard? If I couldn’t find a clean copy to reproduce, I would fire up Microsoft Word and create one from scratch. It might not be an exact duplicate, but who cares? In fact, deleting some of the cartoon graphics, if any, might not hurt.
09-17-2026 - Quoting a U.S. Postal Service report: “The Postal Service will celebrate the Hindu festival of Diwali with a new stamp. Diwali falls on the eve of, or on, the new moon that occurs between mid-October and mid-November. In 2026, the main day of the festival will be Nov. 8.” A ceremony will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. ET for retail sales and cancellations, and 6 p.m. ET for the ceremonial first-day-of-issue unveiling and reception at the Embassy of India, 2107 Massachusetts Ave. NW Washington, DC 20008.
09-17-2026 - In the mail today was a multi-level marketing program promoting nutritional supplements. Also in the mail was a gifting program promoting nothing. If it were actually promoting something, it wouldn't be a gifting program. The sales letter said you would receive some leads to mail to, but it's basically nothing more than paper-passing, where your copy of the sales letter is really the only product.

09-17-2026 - In my opinion, the Extra Income Mail Order industry urgently needs fresh information reports, with or without reproduction rights. All I see these days are the same reports that have circulated for over 30 years. Many are still relevant and of value to new dealers. Those of us who have been around for decades need something new! Think of all the topics that have been created over the years that are not covered by printed information reports or in electronic format for websites or portable media. The subject (and income) possibilities are endless.

Well, I'm going to pass on that, as I noticed the banana I set on my desk this morning. On a similar note, I'm waiting for the next "My name is (enter phony name here) and I am an attorney" chain letter. That one has slowed down some, but it probably will never die.

09-16-2026 - My town is home to Sheppard Air Force Base. Decades ago, I was walking behind two young men in our local mall. That was back when our mall had actual traffic. The men were in civilian attire. At an intersection, the man on the right made a 90-degree right turn. The man on the left made two 45-degree right turns. Was I wrong to assume that they were military guys?

09-16-2026 - In the news - The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) says the U.S. Postal Service's firing rate for misconduct or poor performance is "flat" and probably should be higher. That's interesting, and it reminds me of the story about FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover declaring there was a “pinhead” in the academy and ordering staff to “get rid of him.” So, they found who they thought was the pinhead and fired him. One version of the story is that agents went through the lockers of academy attendants and declared the one with the smallest hat size to be the pinhead. Remember, men wore hats back then!

You decide how many methods of contact - postal mail, email, phone, or website - a dealer can include in their listing. You decide whether a dealer can include a photo or other graphics. You decide if the listing is free or available for a fee. You can tailor it to your website's theme.
