09-19-2026 - From the U.S. Postal Service website: "Today, the U.S. Postal Service released its Christmas Cookies Forever stamps at a family-friendly event at the Smithsonian National Postal Museum.” According to the reports, the stamps were released nationwide.
09-19-2026 - S.A.S.E. - Self-Addressed, Stamped Excitement. That’s what I was going to call a program I came up with over a decade ago. It’s basically a gifting program, which is funny because I don't do programs of any type. But the way it works can only be called a gifting program. Instead of money, it involves sending an S.A.S.E. to me, the program administrator, and the four other dealers on the list. You get a copy of the sales letter with your name in the top dealer position. The result is that everyone eventually gets a steady flow of stamped envelopes to mail their offers. I didn’t launch it because I didn't want to be the administrator. Nothing is stopping you from launching such a program!

09-19-2026 - Mail Order Dealer Website Idea #5 - Redirection - If you host affiliate links on your website, this is a good feature to know about. Create a directory on your site, such as example.com/books. Then, in your control panel, set up a redirect so that when someone clicks on example.com/books, they are automatically taken to whatever your affiliate link might be. A link using your website address looks a lot more professional than the original bulky affiliate link. You can create a redirect for every affiliate program or product you have.
09-19-2026 - Our economy has reached the point where a counterfeiter can't even make a profit.

09-19-2026 - Good Morning! It’s Saturday, and it might finally be a yard-mowing day. The lack of rain has slowed grass growth, but some spots are getting ragged. National Dance Day, Batman Day, International Coastal Cleanup Day, International Talk Like a Pirate Day, Love and Friendship Day, National Gymnastics Day, International Red Panda Day, National Inclusion Week. My Folgers Black Silk coffee is ready.
09-18-2026 - Today, the Postal Service released a new Global Forever stamp, Winter Wreath. The new stamp can be used to mail a 1-ounce letter to any country to which First-Class Mail International service is available. The stamp was issued today in Humble, Texas, without a ceremony.
09-18-2026 - Today's mail included three gifting programs. I’ve seen one of them 50 times over the last three years or so. This “frequent flyer” has the same name in the return address, but is mailed by individual participants. I don’t even open them anymore. Most products and services aimed at Mail Order Dealers have low profit margins, making them poor candidates for stand-alone direct mail campaigns. That’s a big gap that my ADSHEET #8 mailer will fill nicely.

09-18-2026 - Mail Order Dealer Website Idea #4 - Affiliate Marketing - One use of your website, instead of or in addition to promoting your own products and services, is to promote the products and services of others in an "affiliate" arrangement. You might think you don't need a website to do this. I argue that you do for the sake of professionalism, if nothing else. Social media is swamped with affiliate links being thrown about. A sentence and a link are about all you see. I never, ever click on them. I want to go to your website where you can tell me why I should buy whatever it is you're referring me to. I want to see what else is going on in your business. Okay, most of these folks don't have businesses, but you do. You're a Mail Order Dealer. Host your affiliate programs on your website!
09-18-2026 - Let’s not forget the power of the thumb drive! For Extra Income Mail Order, they have virtually unlimited space. They can hold more scanned documents than you can probably sell ad space for. When it comes to plain text, you could write enough in a lifetime to fill one. It would be the biggest of Big Mails! Someone out there: take this idea and run with it!
