10-02-2026 - According to online reports, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation has purchased a 650-acre ranch near Lake Palestine to convert into a new state park. This will interest global Amateur (ham) Radio Operators who participate in the “Parks on the Air” program, either as park “activators” who set up portable stations in state and federal parks or as “hunters” who make radio contact with those stations. I’ve made just over 750 park contacts as a “hunter” using Morse code. Some park activators use Morse code, some use voice, and some use the "digital" modes, working from the computer keyboard.

10-02-2026 - Developing your own product or service takes time, but you can join programs like MLM and gifting and start mailing almost immediately. During COVID, the number of programs I received in the mail almost doubled. At least it seemed that way. Was this a sign of people panicking and wanting to get another stream of income going as fast as possible? I don't know. As I've mentioned before, I get the same programs in the mail time and again, from different dealers. Are mailing expenses overwhelming these folks? Maybe. Slow is fast. Developing a product or service is slow, but it's better in the long run for dependable income.

10-02-2026 - If you're going to send me a phishing email trying to get me to reactivate an account I've never had, you might want to avoid using an email address that includes the term "comicbreath". What were you thinking? Oh, wait, you weren't.

10-01-2026 - Mail Order Dealer Website Idea #11 - Free Rotating Ads - Set up an advertising page on your website. The page will hold only 50 ads. Invite dealers to submit a free text ad for this page. New ads go to the top of the page and move down one position each time a new ad is posted. Ads fall off the page after moving through 50 positions. Dealers may re-submit their ad at that time. The program aims to drive return visits to your site; therefore, you need to offer something valuable and unique, not just host dealer ads. Dealers return often to check the page to see their ad's position. You set the number of total ads on the page and the word limit per ad. I would not try this with anything but text ads. Anything else would be too labor-intensive. With text ads, you copy and paste the ad from their submission email. You could use this system for paid ads, too.

10-01-2026 - Kids face a lot of challenges online: from cyberbullying and scams to digitally altered deepfakes, like nudify apps that create fake nude photos and videos of real people. Even if you’ve had conversations with your child about online safety and sensitive topics like deepfakes, you probably know parents who are concerned about these topics, too. If so, consider using the FTC resources below to help you learn more and share with fellow parents. More!

10-01-2026 - Around 1995 or so, an adsheet or ad magazine publisher declared that he would not accept ads for Multi-Level Marketing programs. I don't think gifting had hit the scene yet. I don't remember how that worked out for him, but I don't think "programs" constituted the bulk of advertising back then. Today, it's a different story.

10-01-2026 - Have you seen people who, behind the wheel, lean forward and create a big air gap between their back and the seat? Do you know what that means? It means it's time to leave a much larger gap between your vehicle and theirs, because these folks usually aren't the best drivers out there. They are not comfortable. They are not "one" with their vehicle. It's still a foreign object to them. Give them space.

09-30-2026 - Mail Order Dealer Website Idea #10 - Simplified Universal Website - We've all seen ads for MLM or other programs that include a website address along with a dealer ID number or other identifier that lets that dealer get credit for purchases or sign-ups made through that link. The Simplified Universal Website is similar, but as the name suggests, it's a simplified version. As the Prime Source of the offer, you put up a simple static web page that gives complete information about a product or service and instructs the reader to order from the address shown in the ad that brought them to the website. No transactions are carried out at the simplified site because, again, it's just a static site that provides information. It exists to make sales easier for your dealers. Or, instead of a dealer support site, you could use it to provide product information for which you have sold complete reproduction rights. No matter what you sell, dealers publish small ads with the website address and their mailing address. The website does all the "explaining" and sends the prospect back to the "promoting dealer" to place the order. One website can support unlimited dealers. It helps you sell because it helps your dealers sell. Can sales circulars be hijacked? Yes, but that's always been possible. Create security measures that work for you. This is just an idea. Adapt it to suit your needs.
